Is there a way to fake shadows for active characters in game to like have some kinda image or something that doesn’t leave the ground but follows the character and maybe also change according to were light is coming from, I’m running off a low quality graphics card.
truth be told no. i do not believe you can but i may be incorrect but i think the only was is with a graphics card with glsl supported.
You can add a plane with a round black halo-like shape on it, place at your characters feet, and parent it to your character so it follows him around. I’m sure you could write some kind of script to make a fake shadow change depending on the angle to a light but the textured plane is a commonly used technique for low-end graphics cards. There is also a thread on here somewhere about realtime shadows without GLSL but I don’t really know anything about that.

I’m running off a low quality graphics card.
You’ll have to use an alpha texture for a simple shadow with the face setting set to ‘shadow’ in the UVbuttons.
