===Description===
I love Fallout 2. For me it’s one of my favorite games, I consider it one of the most well-developed games in my taste… well, almost. I’m aware of some of his flaws compared to the original, but that’s not the point for today.
See, I have one huge issue with the original intro. To be honest, the cartoon part was applied horribly (at least in aesthetic terms), Vault Boy in the third dimension is one of the most cursed thing I’ve ever seen. On the flip side, I understand that the developers had a limited period of time making the game and probably didn’t had a 2D animator at the time in the first place; it’s actually impressive that they solve this issue in this way as it presents in-game.
As technology goes on a few decades away from release, the graphic design goes long way. Not only is more advanced but even more accessible than ever, now everyone can pick up any software to create whatever you want if you have enough will to learn and create and I certainly took this opportunity.
In my remake, I set up some major goals to follow. I took care of aesthetic aspects of animation and its quality, I wanted to be a fine mix between the classic and modern era of fallout (e.g. I took the original design of vault boy, and yet tried applying similar smooth, fluid movement animation for characters from Bethesda’s cartoons). Not only that, but I’ve tried to mix up a bit by adding additional frames and scenes that would benefit the overall appeal.
It wasn’t easy tho, I’ve spent around 200 to 300 hours making everything from scratch, but at the end of the day, I made myself proud. In fact (this may be hard to believe) it’s my first approach to 2D animation (I actually have rich experience in other fields in graphic design tho).
I encourage you to let me know what you think in the comments. Leave a rating of some kind and share with others if you think this needs more validation. I would appreciate constructive feedback from all of you.
