I think this work has good potential.
The most demanding next step I think is adding colour.
About 3 months ago, I think, there was a link on blender
nation to an article about character design for games,
with a focus on colouring. It would be worth tracking
At the moment, the creasing details on the clothes are
standing out to me. In some areas, e.g. the knees and
forearms, I think they should be more subtle - though
this issue may be muted by your choice of colours.
Looking pretty good. Keep at it. The first thing that stands out to me is that it seems like his shin guards are to thin. Well, his shins ankles are to thin and the armor isn’t helping. I agree that the wrinkles are a bit much on his forearms but I think they are fine on his pants in general. I actually think they look pretty good.
I’d like to see a close up of his face because it looks like there are some funky things going on with his mouth and lips.
