Fastest realistic fire & smoke?

I just looked up a few tutorials for smoke with fire, and found the “quick” effects.

However… they’re remarkably slow

What’s the preferred method (assuming it’s something other than Quick Effects) for doing realistic fire with smoke?

I’d also like to be able to animate it so that the “fireball” or source follows a path, or reacts to a wind force.

thank you!

Hi,

Guess that what you need in this case:

If you need something faster, get a faster GPU

lol…

Actually, I think these tutorials way over-do-it with subdivisions. I have a pretty fast computer…

Today I tried it with a far simpler object (even a cube) and it’s almost real-time.

Not sure why it was so slow before, but even one of the people making the tutorial said it would take a few hours…

fyi

If you want many features and speed, look for Addon. The video is one of them. :slightly_smiling_face:
