Amazing. I hope you finnish this project. Cause its really good.

Awesome, i think you should keep the green glow, i really like that part.

Awesome demon like clown! I can see him fitting perfectly as a Painkiller bad guy.

Beautiful modelling and texturing. You’re very good.

@womball below me: actually im doing art since i was 3 or so…in 6th grade i got reflections 4 and played around with it then i lost the whole 3d thing for a long time, last year someone posted a link to wings 3d and i got a little into that then i lost it again for a few months until i first tried blender this june and i’m blendering since then… heres a link to my first tries:

A dark background so the hair pops out more. Dark Navy might work although he probably should be at a circus or in some dark alley way. “Here kid drink some of this tasty glowing liquid!”

How long have you been using blender or other 3d applications? Your skills are amazing!

Sweet work mate. 8)

Only crit from me is his middle finger on his left hand, it seems to be dislocated. :o A little rotation on the armature bone would sort it.

Very nice all round.

Sonix.

This is amazing. Wow. I agree that the middle finger is a little off-kilter(off-kilter?). I like the fact that he has green stuff coming out of his mouth, but it makes it so you can’t see his mouth as well.

i cant sleep so heres the big one…noticed i need to drastically raise hair density in some areas…

I only just now stumbled on this thread. Damn, we really need a grading system so stuff like this stands out. Amazing.

I know someone who is phobic of clowns. I sooo want to email the URL for this to her. >:D

So it looks as if you built the mesh in this pose, correct? Are you planning to animate?

I have been blendering since 2001 I think. I don’t think I can make anything like that yet. And I go to art college! Sooo, your going to post a blend file? :Z

The lighting sells it for me. We see so many wips with no setting or lighting - not to say the mesh and materials aren’t top notch, they are. Excellent work, beautiful lighting set-up, a fine ad for blender’s potential.

Well this is awesome. The nails need some work but I don´t need to say that. You know what todo and when to do it.

actually its latticed in pose :stuck_out_tongue: no im not planning to animate

i get strange rendering bugs on is shirt…what could this be?

btw it took forever to get the absinth bottle rolling over the scanner in the right speed but it was worth it! HAH! :stuck_out_tongue:

great work, really loved the green fumes,

but how did you done them ?, afterGlow, where can i find it ?

soooo update time again…

somethings strange…rendering big makes hair too thin -_-

edit: old:http://dreaminmaniax.de/blender/clown15.jpg

new render:http://www.dreaminmaniax.de/blender/clown16.jpg

@fruch: no postpro, its just a mesh with curve deform and duplicated with a halo material.

Looks great. But the mouth is to green inside. You should maybe ease the opacity of the strong green. Make it look like green smoke.

by default the particles are rendered as 1 pixel wide, so bumping the render resolution makes them look thinner.

in the material tab you should find a strand tab (CVS, alpha, or any newer build). In there you can set beginning and end width… Hope that helps.

This work is kicking ass as others have said. If I let my wife see this she wouldn’t sleep for weeks! (Coulrophobia - fear of clowns…)

Great work! Two things that com to my mind:

  • rework that absinth label. It looks like he took a bottle and glued a sheet of printed paper on it… the label should only cover the straight parts of the bottles, not the part where the bottle gets thinner… the part where you see the distorted red “Absinth”…

  • I think now he´s too hairy. Looks like a fur… i think the hair density of your previous render (the big one from a few days ago) looked much better… or the “too thin Hair” is quite good!

  • Oh and the Shirt needs a dirtmap still
