FBX and OBJ are not Exporting with Textures

As i Know For FBX it should store Textures by it self.
For OBJ its needs A (Tex) file.

So I went = Export < OBJ < Path mode (Copy) < Export obj
I did the Same for FBX .

I Opened both formats in Microsoft 3d viewer the mesh was correct, But no sign of Textures, or a Folder for it.

…since Wavefront Object format only has a material file ( .mtl ) where it refers to the textures… you might have to export to the folder where you textures are and for transfering have to pack all this in to one archive file…
…also since FBX is proprietary… it doesn’t support everuthing… see also docs.blender manual addons import_export scene_fbx

I export from Blender, import to Character Creator 4. Geometry looks (mostly) great, but some texture issues are there (some missing, some alphas not working), and objects distributed with geometry nodes don’t show up at all.

Same issues importing to Rhino.

What’s the best way to convert a working Blender model to be “fully compatible” with other apps?

You may have to elaborate this to get a more suited answer.

for example:

  • you have also transfered the used images via any archive format to the other computer
  • you have used Realize Instances node…
  • you have “applied” all needed modifier before export…

etc. …

Maybe even show a (simplified ?) blend file ??
