Thanks for the encouraging replies! Ofcourse I will keep working on this:-)… It’s only not going as fast as I would like it, but it is better to do thing carefully than getting things finished quick and dirty.

Busy creating the background, using a waterfall. The waterfall itself was simulated using the fluidsimulator. It ran for 5 hours and generated +/-4800 frames at a resolution of 300.
I still need to cleanup some errors, but the basic stuff is there.

Very impressive. Though you’ll need to work on that hair. It looks a bit… grainy.

Thanks Krayon. Indeed the hair looks grainy, but is was rendered low resolution and without OSA. The render would take a lot of time with OSA and higher resolution. I will make one when more things are finished.

Wim: if you are ready you could try to render your image in high resolution on a grid computing network. I have tried it and it is very fast (animation jobs who need several weeks to render will do it in 2 days).

Be sure you setup the job correct on the server and tile it in as many small images as possibel (not in blender) so you will get it in a few minutes.

AMAZING WORK 0 _ 0 well for the last rendering you’ve posted , the right arm seems a bit unnatural … why not put this in the water… like that there will be more feeling and more sensations :slight_smile:

Ninjitzue, thanks for the remark. You’re right, I think I need to smooth that place a bit.

StanDesign. yes if you look at previous renders, she needs a drape which hangs over her arm. That makes it look more natural.

Next move is to further enhance the rock texture and add some green stuff etc.

You’re going to need to work on that waterfall. Spread it out a bit, make it not quite so syrupy and thick and add in some decent spray and bubbles. Otherwise, nice job. I note that the water ripples also look a bit strange.

Thats true, the waterfall doesn’t look that good. I’ll trow it away and create a new ‘flat’ one without the fluid sim. I’ll try to make a better one.

I’m still not sure that waterfall is wide enough. If it’s supposed to be far away, it just looks like a trickle because of the size of the nearby rocks.
You should have it as a sheet spanning most of the screen width. As it is, it just looks like someone left the tap on. Otherwise, not too bad.

Very nice project.
Waterfalls have a lot of wet areas around the main flow and water it self need some work.

Based on the remarks in your last replies I’ve tried to rework things and I think it looks better now. It is not finished yet ofcourse:-). I think I need to add something in the foreground, like a branch with leaves or so…
