How does it look this time. I had stopped working on artwork for a whole 6 months. I just came back to it, with the hopes of crafting an MMO of some kind. I think I did a better job this time. This sculpting is not finished yet. It really does help to have a better base mesh. I built mine from following 3DTotal’s book on sculpting and anatomy.
Is it a human character, or something else? Looks like your proportions could be a little better. Fingers too long. Breast look too high up. Feet also look a little off. I think the head is a little too small relative to the body too.
But overall, seems like a decent starting point.
sorry about the nsfw tag. I’ll make certain to include that next time. Seems that in firefox I was able to see the preview image before clicking on the post. I think it might not be working correctly.
She is supposed to be a human. I’ll try and fix those proportions. I plan on fixing up the feet and hands. That part of the model is unfinished. I’ll be adding ears onto it also.
You’re right, thanks for letting me know!
Edit: I think it’s an issue with the new gallery system - the blurring doesn’t work as expected in Chrome either. I’ll look in to it! cc @Fweeb
Heyo, the proportion of different parts feel off in relation to each other. Also, would be easier to judge the volumes if you post them in 3/4 and profile views as well. Keep up the good work!
I have not worked on the proportions yet. I added some fingers and worked on toes.
here is the 3/4 and perspective views.
I found, that her arms where wrong length. I changed it. Maybe her head is smaller than it should be? And her feet and angles? should they be smaller?
I’ll have to sit down and remedial on proportions.
Omg, she looks so sexy! A bit like mutated alien and stuff, You should keep sculpting i think You’re getting the right direction!
Proportions are a challenging thing, takes consistent observation of your references and practice.
Thankfully you can get into the habit!
Revising that 3d total book will aid your efforts for sure!
I think you should simplify the form a little, and get basic shapes and proportions correct before adding any real definition. At the moment, your mesh seems really dense, which is making it quite bumpy, and I’m guessing not the easiest thing to work with.
My advice would be to remesh her, and make her much, much lighter (in terms of poly count), and then focus on the basic shapes, and proportions. Get those right, and then gradually increase the density, adding as much form and detail as you can with each pass.
Also, as always, use references where you can. If you’re obsrvation skills aren’t quite there, there is nothing wrong at-all with having a reference directly over/under your mesh. It’s really helpful, especially for the basics.
I know it has problems with proportions and looking rough, but I decided to go ahead and finish the model so I can use it for my project. Maybe later I can make a better one.
