Ferrari F150 Formula One Car

Hi everyone. Just thought I’d post some pics of my current Blender 2.64 project, lemme know what you think.
(First time posting, I don’t know how these screenshots will turn out in the forum.)

And, just for the fun of it, I made one showing how I did my tire sidewalls…

Any feedback greatly appreciated, thanks.

What a great first post!

The modeling looks very good. I haven’t seen the real thing so I can’t give you any critique, but I can’t see any major flaws.

I think the carbon fiber texture needs to be scaled down. It looks too big, especially on the suspension.
Also, the tiling is too visible. I’m pretty sure there are seamless carbon fiber textures on cg-cars that will do a better job.

The rubber material doesn’t look quite right.

looks really good! I think the carbon fiber is slightly too big…and i can see seam lines real bad! Is this the car from last years season? I know its not this season, because it is ugly as f**k with that platypus nose.

Could we see some wires? Once again, great job!

you have to made pirelli on curve to… i think because it looks quite stupid

sigh http://www.yallaf1.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Pirelli_F1_group-all.jpg

The model and render looks good but fix the flaws that other people mentioned

hahaha no way!! that looks rididic… but hahaha i just can belive it that they made it in such way.

Ok, I’ve made some changes to the carbon and did some cockpit work. As for the rubber texture, I want a super-black and shiny looking rubber like they’re brand new and have been polished for hours.

Anyway, check out the latest render:

Other than that - niiice one! Congrats!
Any not so trivial shots maybe?

that ones looks 5 times better!

Did not really paid attention to such labeling of f1 tires… So, my apologies, it is ‘squareing’… http://tinyurl.com/8vmjw4y

Great job.

Couple of points though: the rubber isn’t rubbery enough.

The lettering on the tyres looks fake.

Definitely agree on the carbon fibre - too large.

I’m not familiar with the car itself, but the modelling looks great - at least no issues geometry-wise that show up in the render.

The alloys look a little ‘off’; maybe tweak the material some.

That’s the exact image from which I made the bumpmap image and the label. However, the yellow stripes were too much for my liking, so I stuck to other reference images that lack the stripe but are otherwise the same.

Here’s another shot. Looking closely, you’ll see that I lack much of the detail where the various suspension arms connect to the wheels. Part of that is because I just haven’t made it that far yet and…this is the big one…I’m having areally hard time finding reference material for those designs. Most images that I’ve found lack the proper lighting for me to see those areas well enough to model with any accuracy whatsoever. So I’ll probably just make up something that looks good, accurate or not. :stuck_out_tongue:

One thing i could think of is youtube Solidworks student formula project might have something visible and more or less a like. Another, if you have F1 feed somewhere or sat tv capture available (Europe, rtl.de, fta), they do slowmo coloseup shots on turns where something could be captured. Other than that - i’ve never seen more details; guess, kind of trade secret…

Is pic posting broken? I tried both URL and My Computer. The “From Computer” dialog lacks buttons and the URL dialog says invalid file for this address: http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=39584
