Ferrari Seaplane Racer

Rendered in cycles

A promotional poster for a fictional seaplane made for subsonic air races. Many of the pilots who become super sonic racers start their career in these kind of racing aircraft. The seaplanes are propelled by prop fan engines that use liquid hydrogen (LH2) like their turbojet counterparts but are able to fly much longer due to their increased fuel efficiency and external fuel storage. Due to this, races are typically around 2-3 hours from lights out to checkered flag. Future commercial planes do not usually use prop fan engines due to their excessive noise pollution but for these sport planes they are not a concern since they are seen as part of the entertainment for race spectators. These planes cruise around Mach 0.5 to Mach 0.7 for most of the race.
