Ok…Finally have time for ME! Yay! So, yeah, Im in…
Sounds good, here’s a toast to you! Have fun!
I like it, bonus points for the anim too!
And a merry Christmas to you too.
Merry Christmas to you all, hicup! :spin:
While waiting for the kids to get up to see what they got from Santa today… (about 1-2 hours, but promised I would post what I had done):
Silly simple, I know… Original idea was going to be the beer transitioning to blood with a nice message to designate a driver. Found a “Santa’s Butt” beer label (but too low res) but decided to stick with something less serious.
Perhaps later I can finish the composition (“excuse me sir, your HDRI is showing”) and fix the concrete (“it’s pure crap baby!”).
…and seriously, be smart, be safe!
EDIT: yes, and I know, I still failed to work in the alternate theme (I wanted claymation), I have plans for that too.
Still working on this, but I thought I would post what I have so far. If the kids give me some time I will try and add a gingerbread man and maybe some presents under the tree.

@Quandtum: Your making me drool!
@SpynalTom: Tasty, but already had too much today already otherwise i’d be tempted!
Well, here’s my silly Christmas quickie:) “Gumby and Pokey Christmas”
On a technical note, I used the displace modifier for the snow, (thanks rarebit for making me learn) and the sculpt tool for the footprints. Everything else is just 3 or 4 times more verts than I probably needed…so there won’t be any animating:)
Nice message QT. Thanks from all of us whose Christmases will never be the same. Be safe!
Awesome job SpynalTom! That looks sweet:)
Can’t wait to see what everyone else comes up with.

@HELIX, I should have shown you this great tutorial: http://www.blenderguru.com/let-it-snow/
However, I have done mine like you so far, but also with a good dollop of normal mapping.
My non participating entry will probably be less involved than I originally intended, but I will get one in…
Thanks rarebit! That really is a great tutorial. Very thorough. Now all I need is a good Gumby and Pokey tutorial:) Oh yeah, and Christmas trees, and ornaments:)
Nice update on the gingerbread house SpynalTom! I almost missed it.
Wow Tom that brings me back to the blender basics 2.3 book and the ginger bread exercise. gg. Gumby rocks!
@HELIX, Gumby and Pokey, they exist, i’m glad! I was scared you know!
@Levi, I loved the gingerbread man tutorial, it’s like a hello world thing…
@Tom, is he off for a trek to see Shrek?
Thanks for the kind words. I had fun putting this together when I could steal a moment away from the kidlettes.
@rarebit, Indeed he is, though I couldn’t capture the evilness that the real one always seems to project.
I love how most everyone has a Christmas tree in their entry… (albeit in different forms…)
Looking very good everyone.
Here is my entry: The Lighted Tree
Hello everyone! Here is my entry.

Happy Christmas and a merry new year everyone
Do I detect a slur Robo? I think I know where Quandtum got the empty bottles:) Amazing image, I can see the expression on the snowman’s face, even though it has no lips. Nicely done!
@JayDez, Very clever use of cubes. Simple, but effective. I like it.
haha - i thought i had a chance this time
the standard has been raised. everyone’s entrys are so good!
when does this competition close anyway? i thought it was a weekend contest?
In just under 40 minutes from now.
It’s slightly longer because it usually ends in the middle of the night for me so I said 11am GMT…
Looking good so far everyone! I hope everyone’s head hurts as much as mine!
Closed !
Well shoot, i was under the impression I had at least until 2 am my time…thats what I get for not reading completely. I have been obsessed with my Wii that I got for Christmas.
Good Luck all. And Hope you all had a good holiday!
