File browser. How to set path by copypaste the location?

If we copy&paste specific location like C:\Program Files.… and Enter, we will open that folder.
It doesnt work in blender file browser?

Hi,

What exactly do you mean?

If you want to change default file paths in Blender you need to click Edit > Preferences, in an opened pop-up menu, at the left sidebar, choose last menu item called “File Paths”.

For more information, read here.

If you just paste some location here, like:
E:\MyProjects\blahblahblah\blahblahblah\blahblahblah.… right there and hit enter - you will automatically open that location.
Its how default file browser are working on windows.

I got it.

If you want to do something similar via Blender interface, I think, it is impossible to do so. What you can do for sure is to change it’s default local file paths.

You can open any of .blend files strictly from folder, Blender will save it in recent opened files which you can later find in Open > Open Recent. But as for your question, as I wrote just above, I think it is impossible.

P.S. Maybe it is possible via Python, but I’m not sure about that.

Using Linux…
Pasting blah blah… and hitting enter works in Blender.

Do you need to press T and open the side panel with Bookmarks, Recent etc?
