Not sure if this belongs here or in WIP… Anyways, I want to know if anyone has a good fingernail material. I’ve been creating an arm for the BlenderGuru competition, and the fingernails, well, suck.

they look weird because fingernails are not one solid color. they are light pink at the base, darker pink toward the tip, and bone colored where they have grown past the tip and are no longer connected to the flesh. and maybe a bit of dirt under them depending.
(edit) also the pinky nail looks kind of dangerous, maybe you could flatten the angle of the tip a bit.

also fingernails are translucent
are you using cycles here
mat could be transluscent in cycles
or in blender may be use some SSS
