yeah, the movie sucked. but there is a thread here dedicated to those rants already.
I really like the true fire bending soldiers masks, gives a nice nameless evil minion look to them.
The other thing that could really help you is to look at some Japanese samurai armor, as they are roughly modeled after that.

I didn’t see what was bad about it? It was pretty good actually. The renders look good so far!
