hi folks of the blender forum!!!
how are you? i am doing my first blender project which is earth. i am still a newbie, used blender for like 2 days.
can you recommend me any newbie tutorial on making planets? any suggestions are welcomed.

Add more light to the scene, and make the space black - it looks like blue only from earths surface.

the stars look horrible. . . . try adding more stars that are way smaller.

Don’t lie to the guy, the base texture sucks
Get a decent, high resolution texture from Nasa’s Blue Marble site:
climate change, global climate change, global warming, natural hazards, Earth, environment, remote sensing, atmosphere, land processes, oceans, volcanoes, land cover, Earth science data, NASA, environmental processes, Blue Marble, global maps

thank you for the critics. they are useful. i have changed the base earth texture in my working copy. the texture posted has a not realistic ocean blue colour.
and i’ll work on the stars too.
