This is pretty nice for a first head, better than my first head model.

Things to improve on would be the nose and eyes.
The eyes look to big and just unnatural.
And the nose looks a lil pointy

looks good though for a first.

Happy blending!

this is my head with the nose minus pointy and I redo the eyes and now they looks more natural i find. Also I removed somme spec for the skin, it’s like more better.

Try using sub-surface scattering on the skin to make it look realistic.

same my first model ended up being a real mess lol. was more my own fault for jumping into somethign that difficult early on lol.
the model looks quite creepy at the moment like some sort of psychotic villian lol  look forward to seeing it develp

i think the eyes dont look like they are sitting quite right in the sockets from this angle. care to give us a from and profile view? will be easier to judge the proportions

Hey drtacos,

It’s a good effort for your first try, but before you can get better results you’ll need to learn about the types of topology that are typically used for making characters.

Modelling characters is a bit like trying to find your way through a maze, there’s always a bunch of different directions you can go in at any point along the way and most of them are deadends. This process of trying different ideas and having most of them not work can be a but frustrating, but one way you can shortcut it is to follow along with a tutorial step by step and replicate someone elses design to start with (that’s how most of us learned).

Blendercookie has some nice tutes (though you probably need to member up to access the good stuff), also google for “Joan of Arc tutorial”, that’s another good one…
