First Render Glass + Water

I’ve just started learning Blender and was following Andrew Price’s tutorial on blenderguru of some glass and water.

I’m pretty happy with it. I’m not entirely happy with the ice, I think there is too many bubbles in them. The water is also coming out of the glass at the left slightly.

Using Blender 2.63a, Cycles, 2000 render samples.

Let me know how I can improve.

Thanks!

Looks good and welcome to the forums.

The ice cubes where there arent bubbles are too clear; ice is never that perfect. I’d try adding some roughness to the material.

Welcome to the forum.
A beautiful start. Very well done.
You aren’t Rich from SCF forum, are you?

The only big crit I have is that it looks like the water is coming out of a water hose that is just off camera.

Thanks. Haha nope, don’t even know what the SCF forum is.

And I do agree that the ice is too perfect and the water is a torrent coming from a hose. I’ll have a shot at fixing those.
