It’s a good animation, but I found the bloom effect on the boys shirt to be a bit unnecessary and distracting.

Damn, I didn’t notice the bloom at first, but when you see it, you just can’t unsee it !
Maybe you should try playing with the curves a little bit more to increase contrast ? Because it feels like what should be black is light gray :-/
