This is Andreas Esau’s Flick, updated!
I call it “Version 2.0”
I’ve been cleaning up old files I have lying around and came across this one. Alas, it was designed for 2.62’s Blender Internal render engine and thus would not behave as the old BI material nodes do not exist any more. (The oldest Blender I had installed was 3.5. Although I now have 2.62 installed as well, lol. Like driving a Model-T, those old Blenders are.)
Anyway, Flick is a fun low-poly character and so, easily amused and distracted as I am, I figured I could update it for modern versions of Blender and share it again. “How hard could it be?” I asked.
A day later I have my answer — though I’m not really sure how great a job I did, lol.
Outside of wrangling the diffuse/albedo in an effort to get something approaching the old BI AO look, most of my time was actually spent rewriting the Flick Properties script that appears in the N-Panel when in Pose Mode.
I definitely overdid it, but I like the way it works now. And it snot ugly, at least.
I also reorganized the scene and fixed a lot of small things (mostly just sensible, correctly-spelled object names and locking stuff down properly). Culled a few lamps too, but I didn’t even try to fix the multiple suns, lol. That remaining hemi is a spot now — as per Blender’s choice.
The turntable animation has always been broken, so I fixed that too. And, since A-pose turntables are boring I also played with making her stare you down and smirk as it spins. The result deserved some piratical music:
Yaay! I managed to create a short!

Finally, ye can git yerself a copy o’the .blend from Blendswap.com.
(It’s too big for the BA forum because of the textures.)
