Oh my! A portrait again…
Hm… yea well It was about time to work on something high poly again. Trying for a different style, more stylized sort of… - just a relaxing piece.

Looking great! The things beside the ears look to sharp and sudden though, like you’ve just gone and stuck a cylinder there.
Thanks.
Heh yea, you are right. I noticed how odd it looked after posting myself.
A little bit of progress… kinda have my hands full.
Not yet sure if I should make the collar(?) of the jacket furry-ish or not. I’ll probably be lazy.
His hairline looks a bit high to be a boy.
It looks like the art style. Ever read Tin-tin?
yeah, it kinda reminds of a character in tintin… didn’t notice that until you said it was.
The part of his nose between the nostrils looks quiet thick, while the sides look very thin in comparison.
How about eyebrows?
The nose/mouth area is bothering me. His lips aren’t too bad, but there’s no dip under his nose and nose to mouth is too big a space. It throws it off. But not bad, I like it so far.
Hey, I have some suspicions, but I really can’t tell, could I see a wireframe?
Also, I agree with other peoples’ comments. Still, though, it’s coming along well. It looks like it’ll be good.
Again a little update. Mainly background - duh, and a bit materials.
Still not happy with the jacket.
Thought about the suggestions, but I don’t think he needs a ‘dip’ and the mouth sits just fine where it is now… no brows either, they would break the style - me thinks.
If you are tryin to mimic “old-style” goggles I don’t think they had colored glass in em. Here are some references.

And by the look they kind of reminds me of swimming goggles.
Great job otherwise.
Nice so far - i like the background with the wind sock, and how you used DoF - its a nice touch. Could you mayby make th collar abit more bulky/fatter/rounder? If you know what i mean… it just looks abit flat at the moment. I would, as you suggested, make it more furrry.
Looks great so far.
Thanks!
Now that you mention it… the goggles are kind of un-aeronautic-ish… :o have to think about that one.
I will also think about the furry collar again. But I’d rather not use particles… they hate my guts!
Wow, what a slow wip this is.
Well… changed the goggles design away from swim gear… hopefully.
And gave him a furry collar… I can’t express how much particles annoy me.
Still working on pretty much everything.
To be honest I still think they look like swimming goggles… flight goggles doesn’t fit into the eye-socket, they more or less cover the eye-socket.
Made a really quick paint over to show how I should have done it.
Great fur otherwise… like it alot.
I love it! Pilots are awesome. I love the chinstrap.
If it’s any help, this was a costume I wore a while ago. Those goggles are probably one of the coolest things I own. (I’d just had flour thrown in my face)
Alright… you guys really hate those goggles.
That’s my final offer on the matter.
Yea… played with lighting and nodes… maybe a bit overboard.
Only going to change some small things like the goggle straps(?) and work on some folds in the leather or something.
Some more attention to the background and then - finally - paint the rest of the textures.
…hope to wrap it up soon-ish.
Well I’m done with it. Thanks to everyone commenting here. Really appreciated.
Thread in finished projects.
