I love this movie - and that’s an interesting new take on the ship.

I had a crack at trying to do a movie accurate version a few years back. It looks such a simple shape, but is actually very difficult to get right (mine is close - but still not quite right).

It’s available on Blendswap if you want to take a look.

Very cool, yea what happened for me is i was just playing with curves and symmetry modifier and it happened to look a bit like it by accident, then i built the scene around it. Shall we see what it looks like with your model in there instead? I shall credit you as the creator of it.

By the way on a cool note ive seen one of the models of the actual ship when they had it on display at universal studios back in the late 90s.

Here is an old photo i took in the 90s at Universal Studios from a tram or something that went around the park.

Cool photos - i’d love to see this ship in the flesh.

No problem if you want to give my model a whirl in your scene.

Wow, looks really good, very atmospheric.

One comment, in the scene you have referenced, David is stood at the front of the ship rather than the rear, but otherwise you have captured the scene really well.

In case you want to play some more - I have been doing a bit of work on the model to try and get it even more accurate. I was never really happy with the rear so have reshaped it a little to make it less rounded. I have also fixed a few asymmetries and topology issues in the mesh too.
