When modelling something and the mesh faces isn’t the way I want them to be, can I flip them so that they are at the opposite side?

In edit mode, select all verts, then ctrl-n…recalculate normals outside.

Or just select the ones you want to flip and hit W for a menu, select “Flip Normals”
