The general feel of the environment is so cadaverous and mysterious that pulls you to itself. And the painterly effect adds to the excitement of the scene!
I have a theory that this is a female skull because the Mandible and Zygomatic bones are much smaller and thinner compared to male skulls who have those bones bigger and wider. Maybe she was killed out of love or for love? Whatever story is behind it must be related to love and death.
The latter images, in particular, remind me of the Day of the Dead tradition. One of my most memorable experiences, ever, was to be in northern Mexico on that day of remembrance and celebration. Very nicely done.
