Fluid simulation of the overtopping of a levee

I recommend watching in HD. This is still a WIP, too many particles in this simulation and some parameters are still off. I haven’t figured out yet why the water seems to be hovering over the embankment (shadow on the right) and why there are bands from left to right.

I’m quite new at Blender, only been using it for a week, but I’m loving it so far. I’m really amazed by the power and possibilities offered and learning Blender has been much easier than I thought thanks to some great tutorials, Blender’s interface, and of course forums like this.

Version 2, with improved water material, higher resolution, less particles. Though the interaction with the wood pole seems worse for some reason. The color is intentional, I was going for this kind of water.
