Very nice so far! Glad to see another War Thunder fan! I’ts looking good, and I can’t wait to see the finished model.
Nice job. You really captured the look of it.

AWWWW YISSSS!! FOCKE-WULF! I love this plane, awesome looking. Good start!
you shot me down last week…i remember that scratch on your tail as you dove past me…
Very good. But, “lets put some HDR on that Environment”, Joker
I like shading of the fuselage. How have you done it? Rendered in Cycles or BI?
So I’ve added in an HDRI but since it’s a snowy landscape (since it’s one of the winter paintschemes on the aircraft) it doesn’t really show up at all which is slightly disappointing. But then again I haven’t made any environment for it yet so it’s just a studio setup at the moment.
Thanks, yeah this was rendered in Cycles. The texture was drawn using GIMP and a lot of work with the airbrush tool and lots of reference images. Pretty happy with the colours of it all but I still have to add in all the weathered details to give it more of a used look.
Do not forget to make the scartches on the cross and the yellow stripe.
Oh yes true. Thanks!
The textures are made pretty well.
The shape of the fuselage catches the right proportions. It seems that you were basing on the blueprints - remember that they never are perfect. If you look on the photos, you will discover that many details were different. For example - the windscreen had an angular shape, so the frame of the cockpit canopy:[INDENT=6]

Another detail spoils the general effect: the wing airfoil shape (wing cross-section) is completely wrong. Its

This is really cool. I see alot of detail in this. Great Work
Thanks for the feedback! It’s always nice to hear from someone who has in-depth knowledge on the topic (apart from your book you even managed to pick the variant so that gets extra points).
It would seem in my haste to get the model done I managed to forget the basic concept of how the shape of the wing actually makes the plane get off the ground haha. Gonna be interesting to see if I can tweak it gently enough to give it the right shape while still keeping the UV’s relatively intact.
I’ve edited the front canopy so hopefully it looks a bit flater now:
At such a close up angle, you can start see the flaws in the modeling but I don’t plan on making any close up renders like this so I can live with them.
And thanks for the links to those sites too. They’re very helpful.
Great job with the detail! Ever thought of animating it?
The texture looks pretty good and detailed. What resolution did you take? And is it a bump or a normal map?
