Folding Mechanism Bones

Hello, all I’m trying to create a folding mechanism similar to this
this is the first i try something like this so any help would be appreciated thank you

i watched some tutorials about folding bone and rigging like this one: in a more simplified form and i cant seem to make it work like it suppose to

I call these “accordion bones”; I do them with series of 2 long IKs, with targets parented to a scaling bone:
