I really love this image, it is seemingly perfect for what you are doing! There is nothing imperfect about it, I really love this!!
Welcome to BA!
This is magnificent! It looks SO good. Only thing I would suggest is to do something with that lump of snow on the left. Its hard to tell what it is and frankly its a bit distracting.
Man, that’s an awesome view. It gives me a feeling of Lord of the Rings. Great.
And as a nice criticism, i would tell that this image is a really open wide image, with a lot of space, and the camera is sitting on top of a mountain. Take a look at the other mountains, there are no trees around there. So why is the camera looking though trees ? This is a bit odd to me … but anyways, this is awesome, and I would like to use it as a wallpaper.
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
Good work!
it’s called ‘creating a composition’. This way it conveys more depth in the image.
It’s a basic technique, together with things like ‘rule of thirds’, balance, lighting, negative space etc.
The moment you know about this, you will start seeing it in every image from a movie, TV show or render.
Start here for diving into a rabbit hole of information.
Or this one.…
Thanks for answering and sharing the links, i would like to improve myself and definitely read those links.
Looks great!
Could you tell about making it? What did you model, trouble you encountered, what you learned, etc.?
The entire set of near camera, framing, items doesn’t look right. As LMalachi said it is distracting. It almost looks like a stock border put on it post processing. It is too sharp or clear and the placement some things, like the twigs along the top, seems random.
Use the framing/border items to give a sense of depth, scale, and hopefully story.
Minor thing: some of the falling snow looks like a dark bar with light bars beside it. Motion blur?
Agree with RobWu that this is an important part of composition. The border/framing items on this image aren’t accomplishing that. (Thank you for those links RobWu.)
We’re always learning
Wow, it looks very good, there’s quite a bit of storytelling in it
