Freestyle Exclude Collection's Sub-Collections are included in lineart

I’ve been trying to draw freestyle lines of different colors over separate objects, so i’ve been using the collection include/exclude option; however, i found that sub-collections inside of the excluded ones are drawn over anyways :confounded:
as a basic example, i want suzanne to have a green f/s outline, and the cube to have a pink one. i don’t want the icosphere to have any outline at all.
thoughts on how to accomplish this? i’d prefer to use freestyle rather than other outlining methods (ie, inverted hull and GP).

Use arrow buttons to move Lineset 2 above Lineset 1 in the list.
That would draw green lines above pink ones.

Or you can use Collection of Cube as inclusive in Lineset 1, instead of trying to exclude the Sphere.

You are not forced to put objects into different linesets or collections to give different colors to objects.
You can use a Material modifier in Freestyle Color panel and mix default black color with a color defined in Freestyle Line panel in Material tab, defined for each object.
