From 3D Concept to Reality: Oak Desk and Shelves

I’ve always wanted an oak computer desk made by my father. While looking for inspiration, I came across a design by Robert Restu Pambudi on Blenderkit. However, his design doesn’t quite match my taste, and it isn’t very practical for a real desk.

All the woodworking was done by my father, John. My uncle Eddy did all the metalwork. All the wooden planks were made from reclaimed railway sleepers. An unused PVC gutter was used to create the cable tray. Leftover wood was used to create a stand for my computer.

The total cost came to approximately €528 (wood €385, metal €100, lacquer €43). That’s excluding labor.
