Decided to have a go at a weapon and so I went with a design I found online, I cant remember where because it was a while ago, but if I find it again I will credit.
there is a lot of gun models out there and I wanted to give one a go.
Let me know what you think.
All created in blender and cycles rendered at 2000 samples I think
Also my laptop that I have been creating on recently seems to make my renders brighter then I look at it on another monitor ans its darker weird but let me know what you think.
Nice weapon model The render looks indeed a little too dark. I think you just need improve your lighting setup. I assume you have just one light source in your scene. Maybe you should try to use a 3 point lighting system: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-point_lighting
see i have a soft box, fill light, and key light, its hard because like i said my laptop screen makes everything really bright and it looks right on my screen. I think i will have to do any rendering on my desktop.
Cool model! Maybe you could add a little glossiness to the white materials if you consider changing it in the future.
You also might wanna check on your image histogram to know exactly how bright/dark your image is without having to rely on your eyes. Many image editors (like GIMP) has a histogram tool.
@Tiago.M both the black parts and the whit parts have glossy and anisotropic shaders involved but it just wasnt working when i turned them up I wasnt getting the glossy parts to look right, i could have used a spec map but i wanted to just do it with shaders. you can see some glossiness near the trigger area though. I think it might be my lighting to be honest but im happy with how its turned out. kind of like a futuristic metal/rubber hybrid haha. thanks for the histogram idea, i never thought of that.
@JD11 I can see where your getting the nintendo super scope from haha
