Galileo Thermometer

This was a learning exercise taking in modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering and a small amount of post processing. There are multiple transitions between air/water/glass and in real life you see ‘phantom’ reflections of the glass bulbs on the inside of the main glass cylinder. There are a couple here if you look closely.

Thermometer modelled in Blender and rendered in Cycles using OI denoiser. The background scene is from another project that I haven’t nailed yet. Chairs, plant and metal vases are CC0, no doubt familiar to some.

I nailed into the atmosphere. I loved colors and how realistic is the glass.

Thanks, I tried to use a noise/fingerprint texture on the outer glass but it was hard to get the balance right, it isn’t very noticeable in this render.
