can someone please tell me what the best tutorial is for making a game interface and start for my racing game.
I’m not %100 certain what you mean by game interface, but i’m assuming GUI. I made a tutorial a while back on making a menu, which could be switched up to a GUI: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5se4HX1pLD0
However, I am certain that there are plenty of other tutorials out there.
As for the “game start”, if you only want to use logic bricks, you could have a property “Countdown” on a text object. Then add a delay sensor and adjust the delay to your liking. send the sensor signal through to a property actuator that adds -1 to the property “Countdown”. Add a property sensor to the objects that looks for the property to be equal to 0, and have it end the object(“text object”) and do whatever starting stuff you want in here.
i have another question because i followd your youtube tutorial for car suspension but my tires wont move from where they are when i press P can this be because i use blender 2.62 and also when i say run script it gives an error at import bge
By pressing “run script”, you are telling Blender to run the Python script as an add-on script would be run (that’s why it doesn’t recognize “import bge”). If you are trying to test the script, then run the game and check the Console for any errors given.
how (very new to blender)?
To access the Console, you can (assuming you are using the latest version on Blender (2.64)) go to Window in the top bar and select Toggle System Console. In earlier Blender versions you could go to Help and select Console from the list (I think).
