Geometry Node-Instantiated Collection doesn't obey original View Layers?

Hi! I’m working on a small personal project involving a big orb covered in eyes (each eye is made up of three flat planes-- white, iris, pupil.) The main compositing “trick” I’m relying on for this is the use of View Layers for individual planes of the eye, then compositing them after the fact so that the iris and pupil don’t render “outside” their white.

This works fine on single eyes, but there is one problem-- I’m using geometry nodes to instantiate dozens of instances of this eye on a large surface, and those Instantiated collections are stuck on the same View Layer as the object I’m instantiating them on, instead of the original View Layers set on the original object being instanced. Is there a way to ensure these instances keep the View Layer designation their original object had? Since I’m a new user, I can’t embed multiple images in a single post, so I’ve provided an imgur link which will show more of the problem I’m having: https://imgur.com/a/sG1bqVL
