Geometry nodes problem

Hi folks,

Bit of a weird one this:

I’m trying to use Blender as an aid to learn about perspective drawing.

I’m using geometry nodes to create simple lines with color, and i’m running across the problem that when i have an acute angle, the line gets very thin (see image below and also the attached blend file.

The reason i’m doing it like this is that i need to also use the Measure-it addon to display lengths and angles.

Does anyone have a suggestion how i can tweak my geometry nodes so that the lines stay equal thickness, regardless of how i extrude and position the vertices?

Or perhaps i can achieve this in some other way with GNs?

Thanks!

Remove the ramp node?

That doesn’t fix it!

The color ramp is just in there to give a nice slider for controlling the thickness.

Ah, I see more clearly now. It’s not just the fade, but the acute itself… apologies for my poor reading comprehension.

Well the diameter of your profile isnt really getting smaller, but the profile sphere shape at that corner is almost orthogonal to the cylinders other ends. It’s possible to calculate the correct size, but its all a bit to much for your usecase. So the easieast way is to put a “Split Edges” node between the group input node and the “mesh to curve” node. It will disconnect the “lines” cylinders and that way they will have even thickness.

Thanks so much, that fixes it!
