Hmm. Intriguing. : arches eyebrow :
Yes I was looking at that, branches growing away from each other!
The only concern is how to handle splits. Though I probably could use this to simplify the geo stack somewhat, making the last stage, the twigs, have multiple branch off points in a single node.
Yes if we figure out a way of recursive splitting and spacing the endpoints it would be great (with an input for how many splits).
One thing I can not get out of my mind is extruding from a mesh line and converting to curve afterwards, the tricky bit would be setting the radius’s at the end.
This node might help with extruding and branches growing towards “clearance”
I will download the new build and do some experiments when I have time.
I’m still working on my other project in the meantime, so no rush.
Hi, is this an addon?
Just a file at the moment. You open it up, and make some trees.
I used the Install
option by mistake. Do I have to remove any files? Thanks.
Install option? Where did you grab this from?
I doubt it would have installed anything as it is not an addon.
It was a mistake I made. Nice that no files are added. Thanks.
It’s just a zipped .blend file. All you should have to do is unzip it, then double click it to open.
Understood. Sleepy error
There may be some useful snippets in here:

It certainly looks interesting, but I can’t find anything else about it. Nothing on his Youtube page, which you can find here…
Yeah, it’s a shame- I checked their website as well, and it’s quite beautiful, but nothing about Blender:
Heck of an illustrator, though
And the translation is even more of a tease.
“The tree generator I was making before, it felt more like a tree than a tree, so I thought it wasn’t good enough, so I left it alone, but now I can create branches properly! You can make a tutorial with this… (Really?)”
So it looks like he’s planning on showing it off eventually, but hasn’t yet.
Lol it’s not even in blender yet, it’s still a patch !
Youtubers have no mercy !
It seems that the pull request is still open and while it’s probably going to be reviewed soon nothing indicates yet that it’s going to be in 3.6…
I’m still adapting to gitea so I might be wrong.
