Off the top of my head I think this will work…
Select all the vertices around the hole then SHIFT-F, ALT-F to fill and then beauty fill - ALT-J to convert to quads
I get better results if I dont beautify it first, but rather just convert straight to quads, but that is definetly the way to go.
Your right again Peasley Tried this out and depending on the shape the beauty fill can make more of a mess.
