512 should be fine, particularly if you are careful with the vert count. You can at the very least run it, I’ve used it on reasonable scenes on a lappy with 196mb (and running windows…).
I don’t know if I’ll use Indigo, but If I use, I’m sure I’ll need help
I suggest indigo mainly because it can get very realistic results. So can yafray (and blender internal) but I’m not very good at that! I do think it would be worthwhile.
Wow! That is one beautiful guitar.
I’ve always loved that flame body and you have captured it perfectly.
I really liked the renders you have already done but I’m looking forward to see what a yafray or indigo render could do. This should definitely be in the Blender.org gallery!
Great details, I love the way you have all the screws in the pickups turned different ways and the action on the bridge… sweet!
can’t wait to see more!
Fine, I’ll try…when I finish the guitar I’ll render it using Indigo …
I didn’t find that Thread!!!
UPDATES!
I’ ve been working on a Marshall Amp…to make a little scene with my Guitar…
So, this is just a test render!!! C&C are welcome…
ps: unfortunately to attach the img have to resize it…so, some details will be difficult to see!!!
That looks fantastic! Concerning Indigo, be prepared for a very long render. If you get impatient and try to save time, you’re going to end up with an unacceptably grainy image.
Have you considered other render engines? Blender’s ambient occlusion is not difficult and can produce very nice results. I just hate to see great work lessened by decisions at the very end of the project.
Basically how it works is ‘you turn it on’. Then just change colour and intensity. Also, lower AO sample numbers for previews, higher for final render.
Thanks dude!!!, I’ll continue using YAFRAY, trying to make something good, but, if I didn’t achieve any good result with YAFRAY maybe I try Blender AO!!!
I made some tests using HDRI…
I used the same light and GI setup for each one of the renders…
ps: btw, To make it faster I put low quality GI and low values for AAsamples and OSA
hmm… i think you can map one hdri as a reflection map and use another for IBLighting… not that you wouldn’t know that… personally i like the reflection on '05 the most, but well… thats me
@ART, about your last update: YEah, whe you resized thie image, totally killed you antialiasing. But the model looks great, nice render. Only thing i can see is some funky color artifact on the bottom of the guitar.
Great modle, I love guitars(preferably real ones tho)
Wow. That’s great! I just started to do the same thing and was searching for a good drawing and came across yours. Makes me want to give up! I’ve started and restarted about 10 times and I’m quite green at Blender. Very nice work!
