Glass reflections in Eevee possible?

Hi folks,

Please take a look at the short film linked below.

In it, you can see that although my glass reflects the HDRI, it doesn’t reflect either monkey head.

Could anyone give me any pointers as to why this might be?

If it’s just an Eevee thing, any hacks to make it work?

The blend files is also included below.

Thanks!

Yes but a little tedious! Check out reflection probes;

only seems to work if you have scene world checked in render or lookdev settings.

Thanks man!

But i’m not sure if my question relates to reflection probes! … because in my little film we should see the screen-space reflection of the monkey head, but we don’t. My understanding was that reflection probes are for dealing with non-screen space reflections only?!

Well it is related, screen-space reflections is very approximate and gives some strange results, here are 2 examples one using screen space and the other a reflection probe. Note that the screen space reflections only show a half moon or semi silhouette. You can play with the settings such as thickness but will find it is a hack. As I say probes are also fiddly to use but give better results, basically if you want good reflections refraction’s etc Cycles is the way to go!

I can see that in the video there are no apparent monkey reflections, but that is do with the viewing angle and the inaccuracy of screen space reflections.
