This started out as a Sculptris test, but sort of evolved into a project of its’ own, so I decided it was better to post in this sub-forum. Being the first real sculpting I’ve ever done, I think it turned out fairly well, especially considering I didn’t start out with any specific goal.
The only real issue I have with it is the insanely high poly-count. (400k)
I can’t help it if Sculptris is an overachiever, but I haven’t been able to find a way to effectively lower the amount of polygons without taking a major hit to the detail in the ears. I can end up with the rest of it looking decent enough, but the sharp edges of the ears end up with a lot of artifacts from the smooth shading. In all likelihood, I’m missing something obvious, but I can’t figure out how to remesh this without causing major visual artifacts.
