Golden palace

Here is my last project.
I made it to work on my portfolio so I’ll try and make a couple more in the same universe ( maybe one from the outside, I was thinking a huge palace in the middle of nowhere ? If you have any suggestions do not hesitate )

And like last time I tried to document a bit my process, though its not really detailed because I didn’t take the time to do it well.

First idea :
I wanted something like a church with a giant ball ( don’t ask why )

Compo rework :
I didn’t like the way the first one turned out, it didn’t feel big as I imagined it

Texturing and lighting :
Classic rule of third composition so I put the left side in the light to put a character later. I also wanted this place to feel luxurious and pure so I used a lot of marble textures from Bridge.

Post process/ final result :
The thing you usualy see in post process ( luminosity, contrast, curves, color grade, dust, vignette, and a bit of lens distortion )

Hope you like it ! Tell my what you think

I think it was the right decision to change the composition. It definitely feels more grand this way. Nice!

This really sparks my imagination: “What’s inside the ball? Who or what put it there? Does it open? Is something trapped inside?” etc.
Marvelous work!

Thank you for the nice comment  I’m happy to see you liked it.
I’m also wondering what’s inside  hihi

Really nice work, I love the fantasy setting. Gives me Prince of Persia vibes, or something like that

As for the outside scene? The design suggests a desert for me, maybe a striking oasis like in The Mummy Returns?

Maybe a sea, instead of desert, that is more like a Witcher vibe?

Maybe and even bigger gigantic cave?

Lot of ways, but if you execute it the same way, it will surely be amazing!

Happy blending!
Cheers!

Thanks for the feedbacks! I do get moorish vibe too, so thats what I’m currently working on right now. I’ll do multiple pov and I’m currently working on the door.
I do want to try and mix some architecture style though, like maybe baroque with moorish something like that, I think it would be fun if I execute it well ( I hope so )

Sure, it sounds great!
Check Alhambra or Cordoba for ideas, or many more. If you want something more natural, check Petra’s temple or the holy buildings of Etiop or even Shibam, the desert city.

Hope to see more of it soon!
Good luck!
