Goldrose. Artsy interior scene. Feedback welcome!

Artsy interior scene. Photoscanned rose with gold texture, blue tiles behind. Attempting a simple photorealistic scene with intriguing but pleasing composition, colour and lighting. Feedback welcome!

This is overall pretty nice and realistic, the modeling, textures and lighting are convincing!

However, if you are aiming for photorealism, there is a problem with Cycles itself you should be aware of.

If you used the principled BSDF, you should know that, in the current version of Blender, it has energy conservation problems (the reflections are added to the diffuse instead of replacing it). This is especially visible on shiny non-metals at glancing angles, making them too bright. This is probably the main reason why many people find Cycles less realistic than other renderers, and your scene is a case where that problem will be especially visible.

There is an easy fix though, simply render the scene in the latest Blender 4.0 alpha, the problem has been fixed in that version. Then, you can compare the 2 images and you will see the new render is more realistic.
