Greenland

I created the landscape in Gaea and imported it into Blender. I made sure to keep the proportions correct. After I was done with the scattering, I tried to create an atmospheric scene with images of clouds (with an alpha channel). Unfortunately, it didn’t really work/harmonize well with the light. So I started playing around with the volumetric objects. It’s quite a fiddle to find the right settings. I don’t think I’ve got it 100% right yet, but I’m quite happy for now. Hi xeonow,
Your work is stunning, I particularly like this atmosphere of brightness, cloudiness and greenery that you managed to achieve (a brightening after the rain).

And your “Silent Monument” too (ArtStation).

Congratulations

I agree with @JaAlVir657 it is truly stunning, I think it would make a great scene of an airplane, or spacecraft flying through the clouds below the camera.

thank you very much for your kind words! @JaAlVir657
you’re right @JWC , a spaceship or something similar could break through the clouds. i had actually thought about it, but that would be a much bigger project. maybe next time

I have a spaceship model if you want it? It is a pretty basic model, but I could get it to you in a day or 2.

@JWC thanks for the offer, i think it would be difficult. nevertheless, i would be interested to know if the look would fit into the scene?

@LMalachi thank you :slight_smile:

Nicely done. I can picture a herd of horses running in the bright spot on the green land.

for the sake of interest, i’ve added it now. thanks for making it available. it’s just a quick rendering without high settings. it’s quite funny, but unfortunately it doesn’t really fit into the scene. but why not try it out, right?

the beauty of the human interests and tastes…
As I’ve read the suggestion to put a spacecraft or airplane I immediately thought it will ruins the beauty of your image that consists, from my point of view, on trasmitting a feeling of peace, breathing deeply the fresh air after the rain…but I dislike to share with you before your attempt.
Thank you for confirm my sensation.

In my opinion it’s quite perfect like you did at the start of the thread… but someone else could not agree… so, as you’re the author, do it as you prefer.

In any case it’s a great piece of 3d environment and you deserve our congratulations.

I think you might be able to adjust the materials to better fit the scene, could you send me it, so I could give it a go to try to adjust the materials?

I was thinking it might be like a spaceship landing scene coming to a peaceful planet to wage war or something.

it could be good but I still prefer a more natural feeling as possible in that image.
The nature displayed is so strong that everything else seems create more noise…but it’s just my personal way to see that image.

Your proposal, with this added detail, could be good and it could narrate a nice story.
In my previous post I wasn’t use any irony… just the beauty of different way to feel an image.

I understand, just letting you know what I am thinking.

i see it the same way you do. on the other hand, i can still imagine a scene in which a spaceship or airplane breaks through the clouds. but that’s a completely different topic and setting. @JWC was kind enough to make his spaceship available to me. even though I knew it probably wouldn’t fit, it was no problem to try it out briefly. thank you and best regards
