I tried to render a simple animation with the RGB option, I can not see the RGBA option, I got a grey background, I want transparent, how do I fix this?
Welcome …
To render no background at all you have to enable Render → Film : Transparent… and also choose an output format being able to use RGBA ( for example JPG doesn’t work…)
Thanx! Simple question, but important. Its not so easy to find this in the tutorials. If I want a movie output, I see that RGBA is not possible so how do I get transparent background in a movie?
AFAIK… there are not so much animated formats wich do have transparency…
when i do this sort of thing (animations with transparency), i still render to images, and then pull together the animation in other software to save it in whichever format that supports transparency i’d like… Quicktime has a transparency option, which is probably the most widely available. there’s also one of the ProRes formats that can handle transparency. mostly i use DVX3 now, but that’s not widely supported outside Resolume which is where i usually play back said animations.
Thanx all, I got it, I try png and RGBA and film-tranparent. Its a lot of frames then, would be easier with a movieoption
Exporting video as RGB-A is more convenient at times, but also more limited and often requires a large file size.
So - you can do it, but generally in production we prefer not to unless it’s for a destination/codec where it’s a solid benefit (say, real-time broadcast playback).
Yes, its a lot of png:s… I have this car flying through space, I got the car model online, its not rendered with the proper colors, how do I fix that? I know its trivial. The background is transp. now, good
The model should have colors like a normal car it was clear when I bought the model, how do I get these colors? They should be in the file as parameters
This even looks like there is some (mutliple) textures missing… car, tires, glass… everything is the same color… so you have to check your material/ shader setup…
Also because you have already tagged a solution it might be better o start a new thread about htis “other” problem… because users who didn’t looked into this before might not look at all after the tagging ??
Thanx! are there no parameters in the file I import that sets these parameters?
…
… well… it seems this is somekind of… unfinished ?? How should anybody know ???
( and… you initial question is answered… )
Sorry, I am unclear. If I download a file from the web that looks like a car, then should it not look like a car when I import it? I can now see glass, rubber etc. in the materials but I dont know how to make the car having these materials, I dont find a good tutorial? I now this is basic stuff but I can not find good help
I found this tutorial, I have a fbx-file is it the same procedure? I dont have these extra texture-filas?
Well… this is somekind of philosphical…
I don’t know…
Well… Blender → Help → Tutorials… and then First Step/ Fundamentals …they are for 2.8 but nevertheless…
You are still continuing an already as solved topic… so no other will be know this…
I am going through the blender tutorials, but as I said, its not easy to find specifik solutions like this. I am not lazy, I just want to have som progress with my project. In time I will give you mor qualified problems to solve. Sorry for continuing a solved topic, I will avoid this
