I’ve been working on an addon, designed to bring a workflow similar to SketchUp’s Components.

It allows you to:

  • Edit Collection Instances in place.

  • Preserve the full object hierarchy.

  • Keep modifiers intact while editing.

The addon is still in an early stage, and there are quite a few bugs to fix. I’ll continue improving stability and adding new features.

Good,I’ve been looking for a replacement for Group Pro.

  • Group pro is mesh+instance modifier, my add-on is instance collection and preserver modifier, parent and sub collection, in 5.2 you can add geo node to empty so it perfect for my work follow.
  • Goad here is fast edit group anywhere, suite for complex scene.
