Real nice. I love all the detail on the engine. The casing around the propeller drive shaft has a nice ripple effect to the paint, not sure if it would have been made of cast iron, I don’t know much about planes, but it looks spot on to me.
Just my opinion but I do think some of the parts look a little too shiny on the plane, the struts between the wings and the cables, but apart from that the rest looks good. Nice work.

Thanks caz747. Appreciate the feedback.

Very nicely done, but there’s no way that is a nine cylinder engine. It’s a double-banked 14. Are the specs in the OP wrong?

1936 is late for a biplane too. I wonder what they were thinking. STOL perhaps?

Wow, the engine detail looks incredible! Is this model just for fun? Or for a contest or something?

Just did some searching. The specs in the OP from Great Aircraft of the World list the engine for the F3F-2. The F3F-1 had a Pratt & Whitney R-1535 Twin Wasp Junior, which of course was a double-banked 14.

Great work! Congratulations!
The engine looks superb!

Thanks all for the comments and feedback. Gumboots is indeed correct. It is a P&W R1535 Twin Wasp Junior double-banked 14 cylinder. My mistake for posting the wrong specs. I’ll correct the specs.

Jared, just for fun, no contest. kind of a hobby for me.

Witold, thanks man. Means a lot coming from the author of the Virtual Airplanebook. I recommend this book to anyone wanting to model, texture and render aircraft. Absolutely top notch how-to book.

Wow! Terrific job. You rally captured the look of the plane.

Great job! This looks very accurate.

Steve S, ShadowCamero…thanks man for the comments.

Great, man!
I love the details
The body a bit more shiny?

I like much both images, the engine is very detailed, I want see a picture of this plan with the helice with a little of motion blur ;), is pretty curious the detail of felix the cat and excellent work on shading!

Thanks for nice comments.

very nice indeed
