I’m trying to wrap my head around this and can’t find a solution.
I’m very new to rigging and need help.
Trying to rig the reload animation for this revolver.
I’ve managed to rig two separate parts but can’t find a way to merge them and make them work together.
Any suggestions on what approach I should take would be greatly appreciated.

what do you mean by “together”? To run the animation parallel instead in sequence?

here’s what I’m trying to obtain:

you can use the action constraint for this.
Add a new bone.
Add a action constraint to both of your bones which control the animation.
Target is your new bone.
In the action editor select first action, click on fake user and then on ‘x’.
In the action editor select second action, click on fake user and then on ‘x’.
In the action constraint choose the corresponding action and enter your frame start + end of that action.
Choose e.g. the z location from min 0 to max 1.
If you now move your new bone from z= 0 to z= 1 both animations should move parallel.
If this doesn’t work, please provide blend file, so we can help you more precise what to do.

I managed to assign key frames to both bones, but I’m doing something wrong with the action constraint since I can’t move them with the new added bone

Sorry, i cannot help you, because i have no idea how your action looks like or how your bone is animated. And i even don’t know what bone is handling the action and which one is the “new bone”. If you don’t provide a blend file - all i can do is guessing - and sorry to say that, but that’s just a waste of time for me.
