i am quite new with animation, hair and particles in general and i have encountered a problem with my animation behavior. In video below I have this surreal eye covered in feather via hair particles, the mesh - blinking movement - is animated via shape keys. Is there a way how to make the feathers move less chaotically during a shape key movement?
As I can understand the hair particles are generating new feathers in new positions every frame, because the hair particles use the area of face to determine where the “hair” can be placed.
As you are using shape keys the area of the face are changing every time and the hair particles is recalculating the position every frame.
My sugestion is you need aply the “hair” creating real mesh of the feather, and then create the animation. After aplliyng the hair there will be no more hair particles making calculations every frame.
As I was not able to deal with the feather stretching when turning it into mesh,
I also tried to distribute feathers as objects via geo node setup.
The recalculation are not that severe, but it seems that its still making some points disappearing when the mesh is deforming.
Any tips how to fix the node setup to make the feathers follow the morping object?
