Hair Particles in game engine


I’ve created a human character with hair particles which renders fine but when I start the game engine it doesn’t appear. Do I have to change the settings somewhere?

Particles are not supported in the BGE.

I figured out today, that if you first go to the modifiers tab, then hit convert under particle, hit Alt-C and convert to curves, then go to the curve properties and increase the bevel to 0.001, the resolution to 4, and the fill type to full, then hit Alt-C and convert back to mesh, it runs fairly well in the game engine. sounds like a high res mesh solution ;).
