I’m trying to add some fur to my model and render it with cycles, but it doesn’t look uniform through the mesh, the face normals are ok, and I think the model has good polygons distribution.

maybe you have fewer parent hairs than polygons. then the distribution is uneven. please show your hairsettings, so that we can help better.

So how many hairs should I use for my model?
As many as it takes to give the visual effect you want.
