Hair turning out fat

Hey guys
so I wanted to make simple grass on a plane following this


now I set up everything and made a custom grass material and the grass turning out like this in the render :

do you guys have any idea on how to solve this ??


Do these values belong to the emitter plane?

If so, unapplied (and even non-uniform) scale is hardly ever a good thing…
Select the emitter plane and hit Ctrl-A > Scale. You might have to adjust the hair length after that.

Try applying scale with Ctrl+A.
